Settings Menu: Everything you need to know
To customize your CodyCross experience, you can access the game settings by tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Here's what you can adjust:
Sounds and Music
You have the option to control the game's sounds and music separately. If you enjoy playing with background music, we recommend keeping these settings on to savor the fantastic soundtrack we've crafted. Please note that ad sounds will persist regardless of these settings, so you may need to mute your device's sound to avoid them.
Gameplay settings
Difficulty: the game has this option to change the level of difficulty of the puzzles and try to adjust it to your taste. This will have an impact after the 11th puzzle and can be turned on/off whenever you want to.
Skip filled squares: when turned on, this option automatically skips slots that are already filled with letters. If you like to type the entire word, all you have to do is toggle it off.
Erase wrong word: maintaining this option toggled on will clear all the letters you typed in case you guess the wrong answer. If you want to review the typed word without the game erasing it after a wrong guess, then we recommend to toggle it off.
Select first slot: when this option is toggled on, you’ll always need to start filling a word from the first slot. This means that you won’t be able to start guessing a word from the fifth slot, for example, before previously filling in direct order.
Vibration: this option will make your phone vibrate when you complete a word and when letters get spread into other slots. If you like some haptic feedback from your device, we recommend leaving this option turned on.
Country and Language settings
CodyCross is available in 9 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Dutch, Turkish and Russian. Choosing a language will determine the content of your game, as puzzles offered in each language are unique.
The game is also localized for different regions that speak the same language. English questions are divided into the following categories: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Philippines, and “general”. Spanish questions are divided into two categories: Latin America and Spain.
Facebook Integration
You can connect your Facebook account to the game not only to save your progress but also to see your friends on the map of the game. Your picture will also appear inside your own pin on the game’s map.
Resetting Progress
Let’s say that you would like to challenge yourself and start all over. You can manually do that by using this option. Please keep in mind that all your progress will be completely deleted and you’ll be taken back to the first puzzle. Note that we release new content every month, so if you reached the end of the available puzzles, all you have to do is wait a little bit longer. Learn more about it here.
